A bunch of friends and I went to the New York Comic Con this Thursday. It was fun to check out and see all the cool booths and merchandise but we probably miscalculated how packed it would be.
There were 6 of us in total and it was hell trying to stick together through all the people. We didn’t attend any panels or autograph signings, just went around the main show floor and checked out random booths and merchandise. There were tons of awesome statues, figures, posters, and obviously comics.
I didn’t wind up buying anything as most stuff was very pricey.
I even saw a few famous people such as Christian and Tommy Dreamer, both professional wrestlers, and famous card mechanic Richard Turner that I recognized from Penn and Teller’s Fool Us.
There were some video game booths set up from Capcom, Konami, and Square Enix too. You could play some Monster Hunter Worlds, Final Fantasy Dissidia, or some Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite and Street Fighter V. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was there too. The lines for everything were pretty long and I didn’t want to keep everyone waiting so I didn’t check anything out, plus trying to play Monster Hunter for the first time sounds like a bad way to spend time in the demo.
We only stayed for a couple of hours but it was fun while it lasted. Afterwards we got food and drink and called it a night. I would go again but we definitely need to plan better because rolling around with a big group probably isn’t the way to go.
