A very oddly paced conference which included a long intermission to move the in-person audience to a different hall to show additional trailers.
A grand departure from their previous conferences. Anyway, they showed off a lot of gameplay from some of their premiere titles.

Although the Sony conference itself was kind of a mess with their official stream dying a couple of times and the awkward intermission, the gameplay footage made up for it.
The Last of Us 2 looks absolutely incredible, from multiple standpoints. The openly gay kiss between Ellie and her girlfriend, which might be the best looking animated kiss I’ve ever seen in a video game, was a bold move. The animations during gameplay are stunningly fluid. Picking up and throwing a bottle at an enemy all while running looked incredibly fluid. There was no wasted animation. The graphics are stunning and Naughty Dog are masters at conveying emotion.
Ghost of Tsushima looks really cool as well. I’m really into the Bushido Blade style of one or two attacks is all you need to kill an enemy. The animations looked a little janky and stiff coming straight off The Last of Us 2, but I’m excited to see more.
Resident Evil 2 is another big title that debuted during this conference. It’s wild that Capcom can produce a game that looks as good and photorealistic as Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5 when Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite and Street Fighter V exists. I’m very excited to play a remake of my favorite Resident Evil especially when it looks this good.
Death Stranding. I don’t really know how to describe this game. There’s still plenty of questions about what is going on in the story and what the action looks like. However, we did learn more about the main character, the environments you’ll see, and some of the traversal mechanics. Looking forward to seeing more of this game.
A lot of awesome footage for games that won’t come out for another year or two.
